Jeff Morley’s announcement that he is going to work for the Luna Task Force is an opportunity to address facts brought to light by AARC’s research and recent document releases. The owner of the Texas School Book Depository Building was D. Harold Byrd, an oil man and major defense contractor. Byrd’s substantial friend was General Jimmy Doolittle, war hero and advisor to Presidents on intelligence matters.
During 1961-63 Doolittle served on President Kennedy’s President’ Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB), serving as head of its CIA panel. JFK’s reforms of CIA were forwarded to PFIAB, where they languished in June 1963. Released records state that Doolittle was tasked in June 1963 to find out why Kennedy’s reforms were being blocked.
AARC’s research also uncovered the presence of a Nazi assassin in Dallas as a guest of Byrd in late 1963-64, former OSS double agent Werner von Alvensleben. Perhaps recent developments will lead to further exploration of these matters.
